TalkGraph vs NoteGPT

NoteGPT summarises content that already exists: YouTube videos, PDFs, recordings and documents. TalkGraph maps what you say while you say it, and joins every map into one Brain you can ask.

NoteGPT is built for

Summarising and working with existing content: videos, PDFs, audio files and documents, with a large toolbox of AI writing and study tools.

TalkGraph is built for

Thinking, meeting and studying out loud: a live map of what you say that joins everything else you've talked through.

The short version

NoteGPT is a broad AI toolkit. Its core is summarising YouTube videos, PDFs, audio, documents and articles, alongside a transcriber that separates speakers, AI chat with several models, and dozens of side tools: mind maps, flashcards, quizzes, slides, AI writing and more. It works on the web and through Chrome and Edge extensions. Its FAQ says it does not yet take notes during video calls, and its meeting note taker works from uploaded recordings. TalkGraph is narrower and starts at a different point: it listens live, structures what you say into a map of typed cards as you speak, and adds every map to one cross-conversation Brain you can search and ask.

A TalkGraph map of a launch-planning call: the decision to launch on October 14 branches off the topic, with a fact about the payment migration, Ruth's launch-email action and an open question on EU pricing, beside the live transcript
Where NoteGPT summarises a finished recording, TalkGraph structures the conversation into connected, typed cards as it happens.

TalkGraph fits if

  • You want to capture your own thinking, meetings or study sessions as you speak, not summarise something afterwards.
  • You want a map that builds live, with decisions, actions and questions typed and connected.
  • You want every session to join one Brain you can ask later.
  • You'd rather be asked a question than handed a summary.

Questions people ask

Is TalkGraph a NoteGPT alternative?

For capturing what you say, yes. NoteGPT is strongest at summarising existing content such as YouTube videos and PDFs. TalkGraph is built for live speech: it maps your meetings, lectures and thinking as you talk and connects them over time. Some people use NoteGPT for videos and TalkGraph for their own conversations.

Can NoteGPT take notes during a live meeting?

According to NoteGPT's own FAQ (checked 4 October 2026), not yet: notes during video conferences are listed as planned, and its meeting note taker works from recordings you upload. TalkGraph maps meetings live from your mic or the call's browser tab, with no bot joining.

Do both make mind maps?

Yes, in different ways. NoteGPT generates a mind map from text, a file, a link or a YouTube video. TalkGraph builds the map while you speak, typing each point as an idea, fact, decision, action, question or risk, and links maps together in your Brain.

Which is free?

Both offer free use. TalkGraph's free plan is 250 nodes a month with no card, and you can try it with no account. NoteGPT says it can be used for free but doesn't list the limits on its pricing page.
