TalkGraph vs Evernote

TalkGraph does the core of what people use Evernote for: notes, imported PDFs and documents, voice recordings, tasks, search and an AI you can ask about all of it. The difference is what you see. Evernote files your notes as pages; TalkGraph maps them, so a 40-page PDF or an hour of talking becomes a structure you can take in at a glance.

Evernote is built for

A long-standing filing system: typed notes, web clips, scanned documents and files in notebooks and tags, with offline access on every device.

TalkGraph is built for

Your notes, documents and recordings turned into visual maps that connect, with questions that push your thinking and an AI you can ask about all of it.

The short version

Evernote keeps typed notes, web clips, scans, PDFs and audio in notebooks, spaces and tags, searches inside images and documents, works offline and syncs across Windows, Mac, iPhone, Android and the web. Its AI (an assistant over your notes, semantic search, transcription and editing) is on the Advanced plan, and the free plan stops at 50 notes and one notebook. TalkGraph covers the same everyday ground in a different shape. Type notes straight onto a map, or talk and it writes them for you. Import PDFs, Word documents, text and Markdown files, audio and video, and each one is mapped into topics, facts, ideas, decisions, actions and questions, so a content-heavy document becomes a structure you can see. Search every card across all your maps, keep your tasks in one list, share read-only links, and ask your Brain about anything you've added, with answers that point to where it came from.

A TalkGraph map of a launch-planning call: the decision to launch on October 14 branches off the topic, with a fact about the payment migration, Ruth's launch-email action and an open question on EU pricing, beside the live transcript
Notes as a map: what was said or written becomes typed, connected cards on its own.

TalkGraph fits if

  • You want to see your notes and documents as a map, not a list of pages.
  • You read long PDFs, reports or lecture notes and want their structure laid out for you.
  • You'd rather talk than type, and want your ideas organised without filing them.
  • You want to ask AI about everything you've added without paying for a top plan.

Questions people ask

Is TalkGraph an Evernote alternative?

Yes, for most of what people use Evernote for: writing notes, keeping documents and recordings, searching them and asking AI about them. TalkGraph maps everything visually and connects it automatically. If you depend on web clipping, scanning paper documents or offline access, Evernote still does those and TalkGraph doesn't.

Can I import PDFs into TalkGraph?

Yes. Import a PDF, Word document, text or Markdown file and TalkGraph maps it: the main topics become branches, with the facts, ideas, decisions and questions from the document as connected cards underneath. It reads the text in the file, so scanned image-only PDFs won't work. Long documents use more nodes, since every card counts.

Can I move my Evernote notes into TalkGraph?

Yes, as files. Export notes from Evernote as PDF or text, or paste their text in, and TalkGraph maps them. There's no one-click Evernote import.

Does Evernote have voice notes?

Yes. You can record audio in a note, and the Advanced plan adds AI transcription. TalkGraph transcribes live on every plan and turns what you say into a structured map as you speak.
